Our very own Refiner’s Fire

Our community has received more blessings these past couple of months than it ever has.  We, as a community not only here in Holland but as a global community, has faced and overcome what were seemingly insurmountable feats and trepidations.  As we look back, we can only see what we have overcome particularly as CFC Netherlands, as going through refiner’s fire.  As what was said in Zechariah 13:9 “And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried. They shall call on My Name, and I will answer them; I will say, It is My people; and they shall say, Yahweh my Elohim is my Elohim”, we have been put through fire, a burning flame that intends to try us as gold and silver, a blaze that aims not to consume but to mould and to hone.  Thus we believe that we have to be grateful that we were shaken and moulded into a community that God is using as an instrument to work in his vineyard, coz from what we can read, he only chooses a third of his people to put through the refiner’s fire.

It is apparent that after victoriously surpassing all bumps that we’ve met across our path, CFC Netherlands has come a long way.  We have grown in faith, unity and love as we stuck together and pushed boundaries while working in God’s vineyard.  Having said this, we are far from the finish line, we are still half way our journey to pursuing the mission that has been entrusted to us.  We have indeed come a long way but we still have a long voyage ahead of us and as mature as we have become, it is not the time to be complacent.  As plentiful as our achievements are as a community, we shouldn’t stop our work and rest contentedly on our laurels.  We should remain faithful to our calling and continue to persevere to reach far and beyond our current comfort zones and reach the farthest corners of this country to share the blessing that is CFC Netherlands.

We invite everyone to renew the promise that we have made after we have completed our Christian Life Program, we encourage everyone to go back to basics and re-read our Covenant and take the necessary steps to remain faithful to it.  This, as simple as it may sound, is a key to strengthen our faith not only personally but as a whole community.  This will open doors for us to reach out by example.  We invite everyone, let us all take those worn out cards out of our wallets or purses, re-read those tiny words and relive each of them.  Let us take this small action to create a rippling effect to our personal spiritual life and to contribute a building block to our community’s faith.

May God bless us all!
