The Couples for Christ in the Netherlands
Dear CFC Family,
We are pleased to announce that our very own, International Council member Joe Tale, was elected Executive Vice President of the "Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas" (Council of the Laity of the Philippines) for 2011-2013. Laiko is the umbrella organization of all Catholic lay groups in the country, now composed of about 50 diocesan organizations and 50 lay organizations all over the Philippines.
The elections were the highlight of the recently-held 2nd National Congress of the Laity on October 21, and the 17th Biennial National Convention of the Council of the Laity on October 22-23, 2011. Both events were held at the Pope Pius XII Center in Paco, Manila.
Around 100 CFC members attended the Laity Congress on October 21. CFC was a major participant in the congress, being in charge of the liturgy, and Joe Tale as moderator of the Open Forum. Nic Escalona, Jr., International Coordinator of Kids for Christ, was given the opportunity to present CFC and KFC's work in the public schools (our new program Cornerstone).
The Church Integration Office, which Joe Tale oversees with Clarke Nebrao as coordinator, as well as several volunteers from the CFC Gift of Life, Finance and Multimedia Departments of the CFC Home Office also helped in the Congress and Convention. The CFC MC Music Ministry served during the two days of the Biennial National Convention by providing much-appreciated music for the worship, the Masses and the fellowship.
A five-man delegation of CFC leaders – Joe Tale, Joey Arguelles, Clarke Nebrao, Arnel Santos and Robert Ardiente - were the official CFC delegates to the Congress and the Convention.
Joe joins 14 other representatives of various organizations as members of the Laiko Board of Trustees, with Atty. Aurora Santiago of the Diocese of Kalookan as the elected President.
We ask everyone to pray for Joe as he takes on this important role, which is a clear affirmation of our community’s desire to be “One with the Catholic Church” and to “share CFC with the world.” We ask the Lord to give him clarity of vision, strength of purpose, and good health as he embarks on this very important task of aligning CFC with the aspirations of the Church.
God bless Joe and God bless all of us as we thank Him for giving us this beautiful opportunity to indeed “Proclaim His Greatness” to the world.

RE : A Call to Help Typhoon Pedring Victims
Greetings in Jesus' name!
We are saddened by reports now coming in from our brethren in the provinces and in Metro Manila of extensive damage brought by typhoon Pedring. By some accounts, this typhoon was even more destructive than Ondoy because it occurred in conjunction with high tide, inundating places in Manila, Navotas and Malabon and Central Luzon. Aggravating the situation was the breaching of several dikes in Luzon.
Once again, our generosity and our love for our brethren are being tested. We have formed a Pedring Team at the Home Office tasked with mobilizing and coordinating relief efforts for our affected brethren. May we request you to send in whatever help you can give. Items that would be most needed are: rice, sardines, corned beef, cup noodles, used clothes, blankets, cooked eggs, or items that are either ready to eat or easy to cook.
It is at these times that we are called to show our love for our neighbor. Our Home Office will be open up to 9 PM every night, including on weekends, to receive donations. These will be repacked and distributed immediately, in coordination with the CFC leaders in the affected areas/provinces.
For cash donations, please remit them to the following account numbers, but please make sure to send to email address cfcmultimedia@gmail.com the scanned copy of your deposit slip, indicating the purpose (“for Pedring victims”) and the name and province/country of the donor.

Couples for Christ (CFC) is an International Association of the Catholic Faithful that has been granted official recognition by the Holy See. CFC is governed by the International Council in accordance to its statutes as described in the official website of the Pontifical Council for the Laity.
The Couples for Christ (CFC) was founded in The Netherlands in October 1998. The first Christian Life Program (CLP) was held in Amsterdam with six Couples joining. Since then, the members increased both in number and in faith. Presently, CFC is in 114 countries.
